Picnic

Project type

Participatory Performance

Date

April 2009

Location

San Francisco, CA

Picnic is a participatory performance in which the artist hosts an indoor picnic while wearing a dress physically connected to a picnic blanket. Guests are invited to sit on the blanket and share boxed lunches, transforming the garment and the floor into a shared space of gathering and exchange. By linking the artist’s body to the surface of social interaction, the work explores intimacy, hospitality, and the rituals of togetherness. The project extends the artist’s ongoing investigation into clothing as a site of connection and collective experience, creating a playful and reflective environment where participants become part of the artwork.
